THE RESEARCH OVER THE HISTORICAL theran mortars has begun!

The research over the historical Theran mortars' techniques in the islet of Therasia has begun!

‘Theran earth’ is collected from the underground cave settlement of Agrilia and screened in different granulometries based on the guidelines of experienced masons. It is combined with aged lime putty in diverse syntheses which are evaluated upon laboratory methods for their strength, durability and application performance. The reproduction of lab specimens for #UnderTheLandscape has set off towards the design of modern restoration materials…and a general experimentation!
